Nuvotronics welcomes new staff member Dr. Rob Reid November 02, 2010
Dr. Rob Reid joined Nuvotronics in late 2010 as a Senior Member Technical Staff. Dr. Reid’s latest work was in development of highly reconfigurable radio front ends, supported by a career in tunable and MEMS RF components. He received his PhD from the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) and then served as a research scientist at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), Sensors Directorare, Hanscom AFB, MA. At AFRL, he led a team exploiting micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) to improve the performance and reduce the cost of antenna front ends. Dr. Reid has worked extensively on RF MEMS switches, low cost wafer level packaging of RF MEMS, and highly integrated millimeter-wave systems. He is a widely recognized expert in MEMS with over 40 technical publications and three patents in the field.
Nuvotronics Hires VP of R&D February 02, 2010
Nuvotronics is pleased to announce the hire of Scott Meller as VP of R&D. Scott joined Nuvotronics with the main responsibilities of scaling the company's innovative research and development business and of ensuring its successful growth. Prior to joining Nuvotronics, Scott was President of Luna Innovations, a publicly traded $25M annual sales high-tech company in Blacksburg, VA. Scott holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Clemson University, a MS in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech, and is a licensed Professional Engineer. He has been awarded three patents in optical sensors and devices.
